Lead/Flake white is the obvious bogyman here, but really all paints can be dangerous if ingested. I don't use flake white often, but no matter what you're painting with, proper precautions are not difficult.
The most important thing to remember is to clean your hands before either going for a smoke, eating food or anything else the can involve transmission of paint into your stomach or lungs. If in doubt, or if you are a particularly messy painter, buy some disposable latex gloves.

Good to hear AG, love your work!
the funny thing is that i think for a second "whoa awesome painting" but was a photo.
thanks for the tips!
If you use a lead primer, DO NOT SAND between layers like you normally would with gesso... :P
Why are you using it anyways? Is it more reflective or money-saving?
hell yeah - no sanding, and stay away from making your own paints! anything that gets fine grains into the air is not a good idea if you don't know what you're doing.
i don't use lead primer anymore, too much of a hassle, you can tell its an old can!
but i LIKE lead poisoning!!!
your paintings are awesome. you're sense of light is great, and the subject matter weird and mysterious. great!
cheers man!
