Painting Comp

Here's the comp for a painting I'm working on at the moment. It's a bit of a throwback to my older work, (before I head off onto a big batch of cosmonaut paintings) but fun to do!

I really Love your darker stuff Jeremy. This one especially. It captures a time in one's life that most people would rather forget or not remember.

I don't think I have ever considered suicide but it's really unusual how much care people take. For example, the man in the painting has the tap running because he doesn't want blood staining the basin. That's what it appears like to me. It's like there is still one part of their psyche that believes there's another moment after it's all done. Maybe it's just consideration for the person who has to clean up??

Anyhow....I'm overdosing on caffeine again.

nice work Jez

Hey Jeremy! One of the many things I really admire on your work are your compositons man. They are so complex and efficient. Besides adding drama to your paintings it perfectly leads the viewers eyes towards the center of interest. Great work my friend!! Congratulations!

hey,

ricardo - hey cheers man, i agonize over the compositions a fair bit, so it's nice to know they're appreciated!

graeme - he's also folded his shirt neatly on the bench, and has the packaging for the stopwatch neatly placed on top. (it's hard to make out in the comp)

I'd say there's a piece of his mind that's worried that the white towels might get blood on them as he's flailing around.

I like that.

Oh and by the way....I hope when you said old work you didn't mean that your moving on from that style. If so can I please ask that you wait just a little longer before you move on. A least until my piggy bank is full so I can buy one. I really like the style of this painting.
